Meet Woodman's new principal, Jana Epperly

Photo coming soon!

On behalf of all of the staff, I would like to welcome you to Woodman Elementary School. We look forward to working with students, families, and the community to make this a dynamic and rewarding year for everyone. Teachers and staff members at Woodman believe that we need to work as a team to make sure that our students get the most they can from their education.

I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and to let you know how much I appreciate the chance to work with you and your children.  I have spent the last 25 years working as an educator in the Wichita Public Schools. I was the principal at Franklin Elementary for the last three years. I am very honored to now be a part of the Woodman Staff for the 2008-2009 school year.

I am married to my best friend Ed, who will help with many activities here at Woodman. He enjoys getting to know the children and parents as much as I do. I have two children, Scott who is 20 and is starting his third year at Wichita State University, and Gracie who is an 11th grader at North High School.  I also have a little Yorkie that I spoil, her name is Abby. Gracie brought home another unexpected addition to our family whose name is Oliver. Oliver is a pretty gray cat that has four white markings on each paw so he looks like he has a sock on each paw.

Please call me at anytime or email me with your questions/concerns that you may have. We encourage parents to become involved in their child’s education. It is our goal that you will visit our school often, we ask that all visitors sign in at the office for the safety of our students and staff. I look forward to working with each of you! Together we can develop the best educational experience for all Woodman children.

Site of the Month

Fact and Opinion

Great site, especially for K-3 rd graders.  Has sound and things are read to the students.  Fact and opinion great introduction for younger kids when they can listen to it being read.  I clicked on games on the left side of the site and played Lunch-o-matic and Super market adventure.  This would be a good site with studying about food choices in Health.  Might be a little hard for the younger students but the player can click on the choice and hear about it.  Does a review of their choices.  Cute.  Take a look. - Mrs. Roberson
